Jen Coleman is a self-taught painter who began their artistic journey about seven years ago, setting a personal goal to learn to paint florals in watercolor one summer. While they also explore ink, acrylic, and other mediums, watercolor remains their favorite. Initially focused on florals, Jen has developed a passion for creating landscapes, both real and imagined, that capture the mesmerizing ways light interacts with the natural world.
Not one to limit their creativity, Jen’s work spans a diverse range of subjects, including pet portraits, human portraits, sea life, and more. Several of their pieces have been showcased at the d’Art Center in Norfolk and at the Virginia Beach Art Center, where they earned an Honorable Mention in the exhibit titled Defying Gravity.
When not creating art, Jen enjoys reading, knitting, and learning to throw pottery, often with a cup of coffee in hand.
